About The Position

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery seek a General Thoracic Surgeon (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in the Eastern Campus of WVU School of Medicine at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree (or foreign educational equivalent).
  • Eligible for state medical license.
  • Completed general surgery residency program.
  • Completed cardiothoracic surgery fellowship program.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in thoracic surgery.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Competency in minimally invasive lung and esophageal surgery.

Responsibilities
