About The Position

The West Virginia University Health System is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Plastic Surgeon to join an established and growing practice in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. This opportunity offers a combination of private practice autonomy, academic affiliation, and comprehensive institutional support. The position allows for clinical breadth, mentorship, and resources to develop a thriving practice. The practice includes cosmetic surgery, reconstructive surgery, and a nonsurgical aesthetic component. The surgeon will be supported by an experienced Surgical Physician Assistant, clinical and administrative staff, and health system resources. The practice is located in a modern office environment. The role is an employed position within a leading academic health system with an established referral network and strong surgical volume. The location in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, offers a blend of historic character, outdoor recreation, and economic opportunity, with easy access to major metropolitan areas.

Requirements

  • MD or DO
  • Completion of an accredited Plastic Surgery residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery
  • Eligibility for West Virginia medical licensure
  • Interest in developing both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery practices
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care
  • Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.
  • A successful candidate must have completed a surgical residency program.
  • Fellowship in Plastic Surgery required.
  • Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in Plastic Surgery.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training is not required; however, candidates with fellowship experience or specialized clinical expertise are encouraged to apply and will find opportunities to further develop and grow those interests within the practice.
