About The Position

Southcoast Health is seeking a Structural Heart Imager/Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join their nationally recognized Heart & Vascular Center. This role is designed for a cardiologist with advanced echocardiography training and a keen interest in structural heart imaging and transcatheter therapies. The Heart & Vascular Center is a comprehensive program with a large team of cardiologists and advanced practice providers, emphasizing a collaborative approach and strong mentorship. The successful candidate will be involved in a high-volume structural heart program, balancing professional practice with a good quality of life. The opportunity includes protected imaging compensation for structural heart procedures and screening studies, a dedicated procedural imaging role, and participation in clinical research. The position is based at the Southcoast Health Heart & Vascular Center at Charlton Memorial Hospital, with an outpatient office nearby. Shared call responsibilities and teaching opportunities are also part of this role.

Requirements

  • COCATS Level III training in Echocardiography
  • Structural Heart procedural TEE experience
  • MD or DO degree
  • Completion of accredited residency and cardiology fellowship training
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Cardiology
  • Active medical license and DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong clinical, communication, and patient-centered care skills

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a high-volume, advanced structural heart program.
  • Perform procedural echocardiography.
  • Conduct imaging for structural heart interventions, including mitral and tricuspid valve imaging, edge-to-edge repair procedures, and transcatheter valve replacement therapies.
  • Engage in clinical research.
  • Teach medical and APP students.
  • Share call responsibilities.
