About The Position

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire a Board Certified/Board Eligible Sports Podiatrist to join our growing Orthopedics and Sports Medicine program in Sacramento, CA. This is a unique opportunity to be part of Sutter Health's flagship Orthopedics and Sports Medicine destination center, a 120,000-square-foot, four-story facility designed to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care for athletes and active individuals throughout Northern California. The center will serve patients ranging from youth and high school athletes to collegiate, professional, and recreational athletes while delivering a seamless, multidisciplinary patient experience. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive foot and ankle care with a focus on sports-related injuries, overuse conditions, fracture management, return-to-play evaluations, biomechanics, and performance optimization. The position offers close collaboration with orthopedic sports medicine surgeons, foot and ankle surgeons, primary care sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and advanced practice providers. This role presents an exciting opportunity to help build a premier sports medicine destination while participating in community outreach, athlete education, and program development initiatives.

Requirements

  • DPM degree from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PMSR), with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle training preferred
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in sports medicine, biomechanics, and athletic injury management
  • Experience treating acute and chronic foot and ankle conditions in active populations preferred
  • Expertise in non-operative and operative management of sports-related foot and ankle injuries
  • Interest in collaboration with orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and athletic performance teams
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and multidisciplinary practice

Responsibilities
