About The Position

The Manager of Physician Services & Quality serves as a key operational and quality leader, responsible for driving physician engagement, operational efficiency, and clinical quality across a high-acuity tertiary care environment. This role oversees the delivery of physician support services, coordinates clinical quality initiatives, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and supports performance improvement efforts aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, physician experience, and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • Minimum 3 years of healthcare leadership experience, ideally in a hospital or physician-practice environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical operations, quality metrics, and regulatory standards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify actionable insights, and lead quality improvements.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to patient safety and service excellence.
  • Current TN RN license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with physician relations, medical staff services, or clinical quality programs in a tertiary or large healthcare system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day management of physician services, including onboarding, scheduling coordination, and administrative support for employed, contracted, and private practice physicians
  • Serve as a key liaison between hospital leadership and the medical staff to strengthen communication, address operational barriers, and streamline workflows.
  • Manage physician orientation, credentialing support processes (in collaboration with Medical Staff Office), and integration activities to ensure efficient and positive onboarding.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and clinical departments to ensure physicians have the tools, access, and resources needed for efficient clinical practice.
  • Monitor physician service metrics, including satisfaction, retention, and productivity drivers.
  • Coordinate clinical quality programs, including performance dashboards, quality scorecards, peer review processes, and safety initiatives.
  • Support development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement projects aligned with hospital goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze quality data and collaborate with clinical leaders to identify improvement opportunities in patient safety, clinical outcomes, and care delivery processes.
  • Facilitate physician participation in quality committees, improvement activities, and evidence-based practice development.
  • Ensure physician operations and quality programs comply with Joint Commission, CMS, state regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Support physician-related documentation, quality reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk Management to mitigate clinical risks, ensure adherence to standards, and promote a culture of safety.
