About The Position

Veterans Engineering is seeking a dedicated Gastroenterology Physician to join our team, providing critical care for our nation’s veterans. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of gastrointestinal conditions, ensuring high-quality healthcare services are delivered with empathy and professionalism. You will engage closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of life for our patients. As a Gastroenterology Physician, your expertise in performing advanced procedural techniques and interpreting diagnostic tests will be invaluable. This position calls for not just clinical knowledge but also a passion for serving veterans and commitment to their healthcare needs.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology
  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology (or Board Eligible)
  • Active medical license in the state of practice
  • Strong clinical background with a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, focusing on gastroenterology
  • Proficient in endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and EGD
  • Ability to independently perform diagnostic and therapeutic gastroenterology procedures, including: Upper endoscopy (EGD) Colonoscopy Biopsies and polypectomies Management of gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
  • Commitment to continuing education and staying updated with the latest in the field of gastroenterology
  • Dedication to providing comprehensive care to a diverse population of patients
  • Due to federal contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this position.
  • This position supports a federal government contract and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination, depending on the agency’s background investigation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures, including but not limited to: Upper endoscopy (EGD) Colonoscopy Biopsies and polypectomies
  • Management of gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage gastrointestinal disorders
