About The Position

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire a Physician – Body Radiologist to join an established Body Imaging team in Sacramento, California. The role involves approximately 70% high-end body imaging (CT/MRI/advanced cross-sectional) and 30% general diagnostic radiology. Core fluoroscopic procedures are expected, with additional procedural expectations at secondary sites including paracentesis, thoracentesis, and select biopsies. The call structure is minimal, involving phone/pager only, with no onsite requirements. Daily volume is around 45 RVUs/day, with optional Flex Shifts available for additional income. The coverage model is primarily SMCS or SRMC, with location varying by clinician residence. The position allows for 1-2 remote shifts per week, and all STAT shifts are remote. Workflow tools include Visage PACS, EPIC EMR, Barco monitors, with a home setup included, AI-Doc triage tools, RADai, PowerScribe, REIT reading room assistants, DynaCAD, and TeraRecon.

Requirements

  • Board Certified/Eligible in Radiology by ABR
  • Strong commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care and team-based practice
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to perform core fluoroscopic procedures and (if applicable) basic US-guided or CT-guided procedures at secondary sites
  • Comfort working across multisite integrated radiology networks
  • Valid California medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Unrestricted DEA

Responsibilities

  • Perform approximately 70% high-end body imaging (CT/MRI/advanced cross-sectional) and 30% general diagnostic radiology.
  • Perform core fluoroscopic procedures (HSGs, enemas, cystograms, diagnostic fluoro).
  • Perform paracentesis, thoracentesis, and select biopsies at secondary sites.
  • Participate in a minimal phone/pager call structure (~once per month or less), with no onsite requirements.
  • Work across multisite integrated radiology networks.
  • Utilize Visage PACS, EPIC EMR, Barco monitors, AI-Doc triage tools, RADai, PowerScribe, REIT reading room assistants, DynaCAD, and TeraRecon.
