About The Position

Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Radiation Oncologist to join their growing cancer program. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) opportunity with a split practice model between the Paulding and Douglas locations. The role involves providing comprehensive radiation oncology services across two communities, collaborating with a multidisciplinary cancer care team dedicated to exceptional patient-centered care. The successful candidate will join a well-established oncology network focused on delivering high-quality cancer care close to home, supporting access to advanced cancer treatments while maintaining continuity of care for patients throughout the region. This position offers the chance to build and expand oncology services across a regional cancer network, with access to advanced radiation treatment technologies and comprehensive cancer services.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology
  • Eligible for unrestricted Georgia medical licensure
  • DEA certification or eligibility
  • Strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and collaborative team-based care

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive radiation oncology evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up care for patients with a wide range of malignancies.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices and advanced radiation therapy techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with medical oncologists, surgeons, primary care physicians, and other specialists to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case conferences.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment options, expected outcomes, and supportive resources.
  • Participate in community outreach, physician education, and cancer program growth initiatives as appropriate.
