About The Position
Elliot Health System is seeking a psychiatrist to join its Behavioral Health Consult Liaison team, providing consultative psychiatric care across a 296-bed acute care hospital. The position includes inpatient consultations for adult medical and surgical units, maternity services, and pediatric patients, as well as support for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in the Emergency Department with complex cases. The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off. The role is part of the Elliot Behavioral Health Service Line, which provides a continuum of psychiatric care. Elliot Hospital includes a secure psychiatric emergency unit, an adult inpatient behavioral health unit serving voluntary and involuntary patients, and a geropsychiatry unit. The ambulatory behavioral health team includes an outpatient practice staffed by six psychiatrists, three psychiatric nurse practitioners, and ten therapists, providing care through a hybrid model. The position serves a diverse patient population in an inpatient setting. A shared Psychiatry call rotation provides remote calls to the Adult Inpatient Unit and Emergency Department. Elliot Health System is the largest provider of comprehensive healthcare services in Southern New Hampshire. Its cornerstone, Elliot Hospital, is a 296-bed acute care facility with a Level II Trauma Center and Manchester’s only dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department. The Elliot Physician Network employs primary care physicians and specialists. Outpatient practices are located throughout Southern New Hampshire, and clinicians use a fully integrated EMR to support continuity of care. The position offers 20 days of vacation, paid holidays, a competitive CME allowance, and relocation assistance.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient psychiatric consultations for adult medical and surgical units.
- Provide psychiatric consultations for maternity services and pediatric patients.
- Support Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in the Emergency Department with complex cases.
- Participate in the Psychiatry call rotation, providing remote calls to the Adult Inpatient Unit and Emergency Department.
