About The Position

Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist at Brook Lane Hospital in Hagerstown, MD. This position offers a competitive salary, a significant sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance. The role involves managing a caseload of approximately 15 patients on a 7 on / 7 off schedule with 10-hour days. You will work within a strong multidisciplinary team and have opportunities for teaching psychiatry residents and other trainees. The practice focuses on managing complex cases in a structured inpatient setting with evidence-based treatment protocols. Requirements

MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Maryland
Experience managing complex psychiatric cases
Familiarity with evidence-based treatment protocols
CPI-trained staff with non-violent de-escalation protocols

Nice To Haves

Experience with dual diagnosis patients
Interest in academic and teaching roles

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of approximately 15 patients on the Adult Inpatient Unit.
Provide psychiatric evaluation and evidence-based treatment for complex cases including treatment-resistant depression, severe mania, psychosis, dual diagnosis, and medical comorbidities.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team, including nurses, social workers, therapists, psychologists, and substance use counselors.
Participate in teaching opportunities with psychiatry residents, medical students, and NP and PA programs.
Provide daytime on-call coverage for ED referral screenings and urgent inpatient needs.
Adhere to non-violent de-escalation protocols and use restraints only as a last resort for safety.
