About The Position

The Pediatric Psychiatrist performs clinical and administrative duties, as applicable, to promote high-quality clinical services and excellence in education and training programs at Beaumont. The role performs inpatient consultations when psychiatric issues are in question and contributes to quality, safety, operational, financial, and patient-satisfaction activities. The position is based at Dearborn Hospital and is full time, with 40 scheduled hours per week, variable hours, Monday through Friday, and every fourth weekend.

Requirements

• Doctorate; graduate of an approved medical college.
• Michigan State physician (MD) license upon hire, or Michigan State osteopathic physician (DO) license upon hire.
• Michigan State DEA registration upon hire.
• At least one license and/or certification in Pediatrics or Psychiatry upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient consultations for patients when psychiatric issues are in question.
• Participate in quality improvement, quality assurance, and peer review initiatives as requested.
• Complete health system clinical and safety mandatories to ensure corporate compliance.
• Complete clinical documentation, as applicable, in a timely manner consistent with health system, payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete Beaumont and OUWB School of Medicine clinical and safety mandatories, as applicable, on a timely basis.
• If serving as faculty, fulfill meaningful participation criteria within the OUWB School of Medicine through lectures, committee service, or other participation.
• Participate in activities to improve operational and financial performance, quality, and patient satisfaction as requested.
