About The Position

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Physician Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to its consumers and offer psychiatric consultation to community members. Clinica Sierra Vista is a large Federally Qualified Health Center in California with a 47-year history of growth and innovation, serving vulnerable populations with respect and compassion across 31 health centers in Fresno and Kern counties. They offer a comprehensive range of services including Pediatric Care, Adult Care, Dental Care, Behavioral Health, Case Management, Prenatal & Women’s Health, Substance Abuse Treatment, HIV/AIDS testing and treatment, Health Education, Outreach and WIC services. Requirements

  • Board Certified or Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of California.
  • DEA certification.
  • Experience in providing psychiatric services.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and e-prescribing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience with J1/H-1B visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, diagnostic review, and psychopharm services for out-patient clinics.
  • Consult with a multidisciplinary team of mental health providers regarding psychiatric aspects of patient care.
  • Confer with consumer relatives/caregivers regarding illness and treatment.
  • Maintain electronic medical records, including medication lists and e-prescribing.
  • Manage and maintain a panel of patients.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of medical ethics.
  • Assure quality of care for all patients and regularly participate in clinic Peer Review and Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Comply with state and federal standards of clinical practice.
  • Provide phone-triage/consultation in rare emergent situations afterhours.
  • May be required to supervise psychiatric mid-level personnel, including RN’s, NP's and Physicians Assistant's on-site and by telephone with outlying clinic sites.
  • See appointment and walk-in patients as scheduled.
  • Complete various forms for patients including; School Medication forms, JV220, SSI, medical clearance for SUD OP participation, etc.
  • Review lab results for patients managed at the health center.
  • Provide prescription refills for patients managed at the health center.
  • Provide good customer service to patients including; introducing self, welcoming patients, explaining treatment/conditions, inviting the patient to ask questions and participate in their visit, explaining follow-up care, medications, referrals, etc.
  • May assist the CMO in design, implementation, and evaluation of psychiatric health care programs/protocols for patients and staff.
  • May represent CSV in professional groups.
