About The Position

This position is within a collegial practice of 9 physicians and 5 APRNs, with a 1:1 support staff model. New or recent graduates are encouraged to apply. The role offers an excellent work/life balance with 36 patient hours per week and 4 hours of administrative time, with a four-day work week available. The practice utilizes EPIC EMR with an embedded ambient AI scribe service. There are opportunities for leadership and academic involvement, as the practice is an affiliate of Yale University School of Medicine. The compensation package includes a $20K+ sign-on bonus, wRVU production bonuses, quality incentives, malpractice coverage, retirement/pension, full traditional benefits, and student loan reimbursement.

Requirements

  • Degree of MD or DO with ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency (three years minimum) or ABFM-recognized family medicine residency (three years minimum)
  • Licensure
  • Valid American Board certification in either internal medicine or family medicine and renewed (if needed) prior to expiration
  • Valid and unrestricted New York medical license
  • BLS certification
  • Valid DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate (or in the process of obtaining)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients, and treat acute and chronic illnesses
  • Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic tests
  • Involves patients and their families in care and treatment decisions
  • Creates treatment plans and completes orders in patient's charts
  • Collaborates on improvements in care delivery and service with staff, other physicians and management
  • Initiates appropriate specialty referrals
  • Provides clinical information to the interdisciplinary team in a clear and timely manner
  • Ensures that proper patient documentation is timely, accurate and complete
  • Works with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing, coding and CPT code assignment
  • Achieves and maintains optimal patient access
  • Provides interdepartmental medical consultation as requested
  • Participates in the development of medical protocols, standard procedures and management of patients
