About The Position

LCMC Health is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our established Lapalco Clinic located in Harvey, Louisiana. This position offers the opportunity to practice comprehensive, patient-centered primary care in a community-based outpatient setting with the support of a large, integrated, nonprofit health system. The Primary Care Physician provides medical care and treatment to patients across the lifespan. This role includes performing routine examinations, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, delivering preventive care services, and promoting patients’ overall health and well-being. The physician also provides consultation, medical oversight, and collaboration with clinical staff.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy (MD or DO)
  • Completion of an accredited residency training program
  • Current or eligible Physician Licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
  • American Heart Association certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS – HCP)
  • American Heart Association certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • American Heart Association certifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care in an outpatient primary care setting
  • Perform routine examinations and evaluations
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries
  • Administer immunizations according to medical and school guidelines
  • Respond to patient calls, portal messages, and clinical needs in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate, complete patient and business records, including daily patient encounter documentation
  • Observe patients for signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect and report immediately in accordance with organizational policy
  • Recognize medical emergencies and respond appropriately following established policies and procedures
  • Participate in a physician call schedule that is equitably distributed among providers
  • Maintain patient appointment availability based on the established clinic template to support timely access to care
  • Support compliance with safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement, and regulatory standards
  • Implement standard and transmission-based precautions during patient care
  • Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment
  • Report safety concerns or hazards to the clinic manager or designee in accordance with policy
  • Ensure provider compliance with patient access, patient care standards, and organizational expectations
  • Communicate provider concerns, initiatives, and solutions to clinic and health system leadership
  • Complete provider performance assessments and reviews
  • Develop and maintain provider work and call schedules
