Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Receptionist to join our Physician Clinics team. In this vital front-desk role, you will be responsible for welcoming patients, verifying insurance coverage, collecting payments, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your professionalism and care will help create a positive, supportive experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Clerical, typing, and computer proficiency
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Coursework or experience in business or office operations
  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic front desk role

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients upon arrival; register them in ECW and Meditech.
  • Collect and enter patient demographic, insurance, and emergency contact information.
  • Explain clinic policies, payment expectations, and appointment procedures.
  • Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; post payments and issue receipts.
  • Prepare patient charts, including progress notes and super-bills.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and provide co-pay reminders.
  • Enter charges into the system for billing and coding purposes.
  • Verify Medicaid eligibility and process referrals and PCP assignments as needed.
  • Process and scan incoming mail, including insurance checks and remittance advice.
  • Perform clerical support duties: answer phones, file, type, and maintain patient paperwork.
  • Prepare daily/monthly reports, balance the cash drawer, and process deposits.
  • Assist with lab registrations, chart preparation, scanning, and record updates.
  • Serve as a backup for phone coverage, front window check-ins, and customer service.
  • Support nurses with pharmacy faxes and help manage daily filing and documentation.
  • Act as the point of contact for the Follow-Up Department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager.
