About The Position

Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible physician to join its Integrative Medicine team with a dedicated focus on pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will combine a strong pediatric foundation with fellowship training in Integrative Medicine and functional medicine expertise. This physician will provide thoughtful, evidence-informed, patient- and family-centered care for children and adolescents with complex or chronic concerns.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree with eligibility for medical licensure in California.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics.
• Completion of fellowship training in Integrative Medicine.
• Training and demonstrated experience in functional medicine.
• Knowledge of supplements and functional medicine testing relevant to pediatric care.
• Comfort caring for pediatric patients with gastrointestinal, mental health, and autism spectrum-related conditions.
• Commitment to collaborative, evidence-informed, and patient- and family-centered care.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of clinical experience preferred.
• Completion of advanced training in pediatric integrative medicine, such as Pediatric Integrative Medicine Scholars Program or comparable training.
• Experience working within a multispecialty medical group.
• Experience with interdisciplinary care planning for children with complex or chronic conditions.
• Experience developing group visits, shared medical appointments, or patient and caregiver education programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pediatric integrative medicine consultations and longitudinal care.
• Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with gastrointestinal concerns, mental health conditions, and autism spectrum-related conditions within the scope of the physician's training and credentials.
• Integrate conventional pediatric care with evidence-informed complementary and functional medicine approaches.
• Counsel patients and families regarding supplements, including appropriate use, safety, interactions, and monitoring.
• Apply knowledge of functional medicine testing, including stool microbiome testing, genomic testing, and urine organic acid testing, when clinically appropriate.
• Collaborate with patient's care team.
• Use a trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and family-centered approach.
• Contribute to the development of pediatric integrative medicine services and educational resources.
• Participate in or help develop shared medical appointments or group visits when appropriate.
