A qualified physician practicing within the scope of the Tennessee regulations managing medical aspects of patient care through written medical protocols. This role involves providing comprehensive medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating patients to meet their medical needs. The physician is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues, including ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests. They will record physical findings, formulate plans, and prescribe treatments, including medications and therapeutic procedures. The role also includes overseeing mid-level medical staff and nursing clinical staff, maintaining accurate medical records, and consulting with the Medical Director and other professionals as needed. Additionally, the physician will assist in resolving patient complaints, provide care in a developmentally appropriate manner, educate patients and families about preventive care and treatments, and maintain patient confidentiality. Collaboration with medical staff, sharing knowledge, and continuous learning are essential. The physician will also manage patient charges for accurate billing and use hospital resources appropriately.
