About The Position

BayCare Medical Group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join their multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will manage complex GI, hepatobiliary, and nutritional disorders in children from infancy through adolescence across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric GI conditions such as IBS, IBD, celiac disease, reflux, hepatology, nutritional disorders, and motility issues. The role involves performing and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures like upper/lower GI endoscopy, polypectomy, foreign body removal, liver biopsies, G-tube placements, and motility studies. The physician will provide comprehensive inpatient consultation and manage ambulatory clinics in both main and satellite locations. Collaboration with dietitians, surgeons, psychologists, hepatologists, primary care providers, and allied health professionals is expected. The position also includes educating pediatric residents and providing on-call coverage (1:3) for emergencies such as foreign body ingestion, GI bleeding, and liver crises. The position is based at St. Joseph's Hospital, a 465-bed Level II trauma hospital in Tampa, Florida, known for its advanced medical technology and treatment of complex conditions.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with completion of an accredited Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatrics.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility by the ABIM in Gastroenterology.
  • Eligible for/holds an active Florida medical license.
  • Proficient in pediatric endoscopy and procedural care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IBD, hepatology, nutritional rehab/motility preferred.

Responsibilities
