About The Position
Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible MD/DO and fellowship-trained Palliative Medicine Physician to join Wellstar Palliative Medicine as Medical Director. The position is based at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, Georgia, with a 7-on/7-off schedule and a day shift. Wellstar Palliative Medicine describes itself as Georgia’s most comprehensive palliative medicine program. Its services include inpatient consultation teams at five hospitals, comprehensive outpatient clinics, a nursing home team, and a home-based palliative care program. The program supports care across the healthcare continuum, including transitions to home-based palliative care and hospice when indicated. The physician will join a team of board-certified physicians, advanced practice providers, and social workers. The program offers opportunities for teaching, system-wide advancement of its mission, mentorship, early-career support, professional development, provider wellness, and continued education. Its Kennestone GME program includes a Palliative Medicine fellowship that accepts four fellows annually.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certified or board eligible.
- Fellowship-trained in Palliative Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Medical Director for Wellstar Palliative Medicine.
- Provide palliative medicine care as part of the program’s clinical services.
- Participate in a 7-on/7-off schedule.
- Contribute to teaching and system-wide advancement of the Palliative Medicine mission.
