About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Otolaryngology Physician to join a successful, well-established group of 4 ENT physicians. This group provides advanced care in general ENT, pediatric, and head & neck cancer services. The position offers a call schedule of 1:5 and is supported by Sanford’s Head and Neck Cancer program. The team includes well-trained mid-level providers, audiologists, and support staff. Research opportunities are available if desired. The practice is located within a Level II Trauma Center with large, state-of-the-art surgical suites.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated residency in Otolaryngology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed residency training within the last five years must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
  • Demonstrate at least 50 otolaryngology procedures in the last 12 months (either via residency log, quality profile, or documentation of clinical setting activity).

Nice To Haves

  • Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process.
  • More education and experience may be required for more advanced practice.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to setting).
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide consultation on comprehensive medical and surgical care to patients of all ages.
  • Treat diseases, deformities, or disorders of the head and neck affecting the ears, nose, throat, respiratory and upper alimentary systems, and related structures of the head and neck.
  • Provide head and neck oncology and facial plastic reconstructive surgery.
  • Treat disorders of hearing and voice.
