About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join a newly established Orthopedic practice. Generalists and fellowship-trained surgeons will be considered. You will join a team of 15 primary care, 5 pediatric, 2 general surgeons, 1 orthopedic physician, and 2 OB/GYN providers. This role offers outreach support from Sanford Bismarck's Orthopedic Department and will practice within a newly built "Super Clinic" with a Same Day Surgery Center. The practice serves a large referral area encompassing western North Dakota, eastern Montana, and northern South Dakota. Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree
An applicant who has just completed a residency or Fellowship shall provide his/her residency or Fellowship log.
An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgery procedures in the last 24 months.
If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s hospital-based clinical activity for the past 24 months is required.
Successful completion of a hospital affiliated orthopedic surgical residency program or a clinical Fellowship of at least five years’ duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
For those applicants that are not board certified at the time of application, but who have completed their residency training within the last five years; must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless appropriate governing Board (Refer to each entities policy for grandfather exceptions) waives such requirement.

Perform history and physical examination
Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care for patients of all ages
Perform orthopedic surgical procedures for patients of all ages - except where specifically excluded from practice.
