About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join a newly established Orthopedic practice. Generalists and fellowship-trained surgeons will be considered. The role involves joining a team of 15 primary care, 5 pediatric, 2 general surgeons, 1 orthopedic physician, and 2 OB/GYN providers. There will be outreach support from Sanford Bismarck's Orthopedic Department. The practice is located in a newly built "Super Clinic" with a Same Day Surgery Center and serves a large referral area encompassing western North Dakota, eastern Montana, and northern South Dakota. The organization fosters a research and innovation culture with supportive administration.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Must be able to demonstrate at least 200 orthopedic surgery procedures in the last 24 months.
Successful completion of a hospital affiliated orthopedic surgical residency program or a clinical Fellowship of at least five years’ duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
For those applicants that are not board certified at the time of application, but who have completed their residency training within the last five years; must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.

Responsibilities

Perform history and physical examination
Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care
Perform orthopedic surgical procedures for patients of all ages - except where specifically excluded from practice.
