About The Position

Geisinger is seeking a BC/BE Ophthalmologist - Retina Specialist to join a collegial and well-established practice with more than 20 doctors representing multi-specialty Ophthalmologists and Optometrists. The new associate will acquire an existing robust practice in their respective specialty. These are fantastic opportunities for new graduates or experienced Ophthalmologists. The practice location is attached to the outpatient surgery center. There is a growing ophthalmology residency program at Geisinger which provides an opportunity to mentor and teach.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified/Board Eligible
• Eligibility for Pennsylvania medical licensure
• Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
• Patient Care And Procedural Skills
• Professional Etiquette
• Systems-Based Practice

Responsibilities

• Acquire an existing robust practice in their respective specialty.
• Mentor and teach in the growing ophthalmology residency program.
• Participate in teaching, research and optimizing access for patients.
• Support and leadership from a full range of dedicated, experienced specialists & subspecialists.
• Professional opportunities for mentorship, growth and advancement.
• Handle cases requiring a higher level of care at the nearby Geisinger hospital.
• Share call (home call) with resident support.
• Utilize extensive diagnostic/treatment tools including OCT/OCTA, fluorescein and ICG angiography, widefield imaging, echography, and photodynamic therapy.
