About The Position

Sanford Clinic Worthington is seeking a BE/BC OB/GYN physician to join their Women's team. The practice includes a skilled nursing team, community health worker, and lactation specialist. The physician will provide a full scope of OB/GYN services to the region, with Maternal Fetal Medicine support available from Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. The role involves a 1:4 call schedule and collaboration with a robust hospital surgical department and a full complement of supportive physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in various specialties.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Demonstrate competence and adequate volumes of experience to include 50 deliveries (including 5 cesarean sections) and 25 gynecological surgical procedures (if applicable to privileges requested) in the last 12 months.
  • If not applying directly out of residency, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures, morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications.
  • If just completed residency, provide residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full scope of OB/GYN services to the region.
  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, consult and provide pre-, intra- and postoperative care necessary to correct or treat female patients of all ages presenting with injuries and disorders of the female reproductive system and the genitourinary system and nonsurgical treatment disorders and injuries of the mammary glands.
