About The Position

This position involves providing clinic and call coverage for OB/GYN services. The role requires proficiency in a range of procedures including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, and management of ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding. Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists will handle high-risk patients. The physician will manage unreferred patients for deliveries and rounding as a Laborist. Credentialing typically takes 60-90 days, with potential for temporary privileges for qualified candidates. Local candidates are preferred, but full travel reimbursement is available.

Requirements

Board Certified
Active VA DEA and CSR
Active VA medical license
ABOG and BLS certifications required
Ability to cover call and specified dates
Minimum of 50 deliveries, including at least 15 C-sections within the past 12 months (verified by procedure logs).
Self-query NPBD report required.
Clean background mandatory for consideration for temporary privileges.

Responsibilities

Provide clinic coverage from 8:30 AM - 3 PM with a 1-hour lunch break.
Provide 24-hour call coverage from 7 AM to 7 AM, in conjunction with clinic responsibilities.
Conduct morning rounds on call days.
Manage deliveries and rounding for unreferred patients as a Laborist.
Perform C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, manage ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding.
Document patient care using EPIC EMR.
