About The Position

Corewell Health is expanding its Women’s Health Service Line and is seeking a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician to join their Core Faculty team at Butterworth Hospital. This is a full-time, hospital-based position with a flexible schedule of 12-hour inpatient shifts, requiring 152 shifts per year. The role involves active participation in resident and medical student education, with opportunities for academic appointment through Michigan State University. The position emphasizes evidence-based, best-practice care and involves working alongside a multidisciplinary team to serve a diverse patient population, including academic OB services, unassigned OB and GYN patients, MFM patients, and providing night coverage for a community-based clinic and outpatient residency practice.

Requirements

• Board Certified OB/GYN physician.
• Passion for teaching and academic medicine.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, team-based care.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• LIC-Physician (MD) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required OR LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
• CRT-DEA Registration - State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 120 Days required.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association if required by specialty or stress test performed within 120 Days required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician on the Core Faculty team.
• Provide 12-hour inpatient shifts, totaling 152 shifts per year.
• Participate in resident and medical student education.
• Supervise and teach residents and medical students.
• Deliver evidence-based, best-practice care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including core faculty physicians, certified nurse midwives, Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists, and nocturnist physicians.
• Serve a diverse patient population including academic OB service, unassigned OB and GYN patients, and MFM patients.
• Provide night coverage for a community-based clinic and outpatient residency practice.
• Maintain minimal after-hours charting and inbox burden.
