About The Position

Corewell Health is seeking a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician to join their Core Faculty team at Butterworth Hospital, a busy labor and delivery unit. This full-time, hospital-based position offers a flexible schedule of 12-hour inpatient shifts, with a requirement of 152 shifts per year. The role involves an active role in resident and medical student education, with supervision and teaching as core responsibilities. An academic appointment is available through Michigan State University as Assistant Professor. The position emphasizes evidence-based, best-practice care with minimal after-hours charting and inbox burden, working alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Board Certified OB/GYN physician.
• Passion for teaching and academic medicine.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, team-based care.
• Required Bachelor's Degree.
• LIC-Physician (MD) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required OR LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
• CRT-DEA Registration - State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 120 days required.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association if required by specialty or stress test performed within 120 days required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician on the Core Faculty team.
• Work 12-hour inpatient shifts, totaling 152 shifts per year.
• Participate in collaborative, physician-led shift scheduling.
• Provide care to a diverse patient population including academic OB service, unassigned OB and GYN patients, MFM patients, and night coverage for a community-based clinic and outpatient residency practice.
• Take an active role in resident and medical student education.
• Perform supervision and teaching as core responsibilities.
