About The Position

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a Nocturnist Physician to join the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. This position offers the opportunity to practice broad-based hospital medicine, teach residents, and serve patients who rely on Minnesota’s largest safety-net health system.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Current unrestricted Minnesota medical license or eligibility for Minnesota licensure
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine
• If board eligible, certification must be obtained within four years of completing training

• Strong clinical judgment and comfort triaging acute medical admissions
• Experience responding to rapid response and code blue events
• Success working with interdisciplinary care teams

Responsibilities

• Triage and evaluate patients referred for admission to the medicine services
• Assign admissions to resident teams based on patient needs and service capacity
• Supervise and staff resident admissions, providing clinical guidance and bedside teaching
• Independently admit and manage patients when appropriate
• Respond to rapid response calls and code blue events
• Collaborate with Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, consulting services, nursing, and other members of the care team
• Support safe overnight care and effective handoffs to daytime teams
