About The Position

West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine are seeking a Neuromuscular specialist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental healthcare through more than 300,000 visits annually. The 300+ physicians and scientists of the RNI improve lives by pioneering advances in neuroscience, brain health, and therapeutics. The RNI team uses the latest technologies with academic, government, and industry partners to make tangible progress to combat public health challenges ranging from addiction to Alzheimer’s disease. You will join a renowned team of physicians and researchers making an extraordinary difference in the lives of our patients. Candidates will join an active team including neurologists, neuropathologists, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists for collaboration in the areas of patient care, research and education. WVU Neurology has an active multidisciplinary ALS clinic and the only MDA clinic in West Virginia. The Department of Neurology offers patients a full spectrum of innovative therapies for neurologic disease, including stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, headache, immunology, and movement disorders. WVU is a Joint Commission approved Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Center.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical license.
  • Completed neurology residency program.
  • Completed neuromuscular fellowship program.
  • Board certified / eligible in neurology and neuromuscular neurology.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the area of neuromuscular neurology.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
