Sutter HealthSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

Sutter West Bay Medical Group is seeking a full-time BC/BE Adult Headache Neurologist to join their multispecialty neurology group, which is the largest in the SF Bay area. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary Headache specialty team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and dedicated medication and procedure authorization coordinators. This comprehensive Headache program serves the greater San Francisco Bay Area community and the Sutter Northern CA network. The specialized Headache program delivers comprehensive, longitudinal care in an outpatient setting with an intentional emphasis on direct patient management rather than a consultation-only approach. Physicians perform procedures including Botox injections, occipital nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and SPG blocks, with nursing staff in charge of reconstituting Botox and preparing nerve blocks to ensure efficient and streamlined procedure days. The Headache program is part of a larger neurology group that includes specialists in movement disorders, epilepsy, dementia, neuromuscular, vascular, neuro-oncology, pain management, sleep medicine, general neurology, neuro-IR, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, and neuroradiology. There are regularly scheduled Neuroscience grand rounds and case conferences (neuroradiology, neuro-oncology, and others). The candidate may expand their focus of practice to include teaching medical students and residents, an outpatient Headache clinic in Marin County, and clinical research through their affiliation with the CPMC Neuroscience Research Institute.
