About The Position

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) and the Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine are actively recruiting a full-time Clinician-Researcher at the Associate Professor or Professor rank. The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) is a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental healthcare through more than 300,000 visits annually. The 300+ physicians and scientists of the RNI improve lives by pioneering advances in neuroscience, brain health, and therapeutics. The RNI team uses the latest technologies with academic, government, and industry partners to make tangible progress to combat public health challenges ranging from addiction to Alzheimer’s disease.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical licensure.
  • Completed a psychiatry or neurology residency program.
  • Completed a behavioral/cognitive neurology fellowship program.
  • Board certified in behavioral or cognitive neurology.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the area of cognitive and behavioral neurology including mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and related disorders.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Develop and sustain an independent, externally funded research program in clinical neuroscience.
  • Design and lead clinical trials, observational studies, and investigator-initiated research.
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national/international conferences.
  • Collaborate across departments and disciplines to foster innovative research initiatives.
  • Mentor trainees and junior faculty in research methodology and career development.
