About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, Inc. seeks multiple full-time Neurohospitalists to work in the inpatient hospital setting performing assessments and management of patients with neurologic conditions; order and assess diagnostic studies of patient symptoms; provide clinical management, including patient and family education and appropriate medical referrals; work as part of multidisciplinary team and with other departments and divisions within and without Hartford HealthCare; participate in clinical research and quality improvement programs at the hospital and health-system level; participate in educational programs for medical students, graduate medical students, advanced practitioners and nurses; attend Grand Rounds; document encounters and billing of direct patient contact with neurologic patients; provide services in accordance with assignment, coverage and on-call schedules; and performing general Neurology and Tele-Neurology consult services, and weekend call services on rotating schedule. Will primarily work at Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour Street, Hartford, CT 06106, but may also cover shifts at MidState Medical Center, 435 Lewis Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451; The Hospital of Central Connecticut, 100 Grand Street, New Britain, CT 06052 and its Bradley Memorial Campus at 81 Meriden Ave, Southington, CT 06489; The William W. Backus Hospital, 326 Washington Street, Norwich, CT 06360; Windham Hospital, 112 Mansfield Ave, Willimantic, CT 06226; Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, 540 Litchfield St, Torrington, CT 06790; and St. Vincent's Medical Center, 2800 Main St, Bridgeport, CT 06606, based on patient care and staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), or the foreign equivalent
  • Completion of a U.S. medical residency program in Neurology
  • Possession of or eligibility for board certification in Neurology
  • Possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license

Responsibilities

  • Performing assessments and management of patients with neurologic conditions
  • Ordering and assessing diagnostic studies of patient symptoms
