About The Position

Sanford Clinic is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible neurologist to lead the transition to a neurohospitalist program. Join our team in Bismarck where your expertise can make a difference in patients lives. This role involves a collaborative practice of 4 physicians and 2 nurse practitioners, working within a Primary Plus Stroke Center Certification. The clinic fosters a culture of innovation and supportive administration, serving a broad referral base across Central and Western ND, North Central SD, and Eastern MT. The position also offers an academic appointment at UND School of Medicine and Health Services, with opportunities to educate medical students and family medicine residents.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
Experience can be demonstrated by: completion of residency logs and a list of completed rotations; OR a quality profile from hospital(s) where currently has privileges showing clinical activity for the last 12 months (including number of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications), with active involvement of at least 50 inpatient services patients in the last 12 months; OR if a quality profile is not available, documentation of clinic activity for the last 12 months is required, demonstrating active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.
More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Nice To Haves

Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.

Responsibilities

Perform history and physical examination
Admit patients (if applicable to the setting)
Provide consultative services
Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the neurologic system.
