About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatologist to join a successful, well-established group of physicians. The role involves Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Core Privilege, including performing history and physical exams, admitting (if applicable), evaluating, diagnosing, and providing treatment or consultative services to newborns with extremely complex and life-threatening problems. This includes conditions such as severe prematurity, respiratory failure, shock, congenital abnormalities, hematologic, metabolic and neurologic derangements, and sepsis. The practice offers care for >22-Week GA, utilizes conventional and high-frequency vents, and NAVA. Subspecialties like Neurology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Surgery, GI, and Pediatric Cardiology are accessible. The service also includes an expanding transport service, a Maternal Fetal Medicine physician, and a Level III NICU with single patient rooms for family accommodation. The NICU is 12,000 Sq Ft, has 24 beds, and 18 private rooms.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree.
Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Pediatric residency program.
Completion of a fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed fellowship training within the last five years are eligible, but must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
Demonstrate care for 50 neonatal patients in the last 12 months.
If just completed fellowship, provide fellowship log.
If not applying directly out of fellowship, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where currently has privileges showing clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
If a quality profile is not available, documentation of the applicant’s clinical setting activity for the last 12 months is required.
