About The Position

Waikiki Health is seeking a part-time and full-time Mid-Level Provider. The provider will offer independent management of adult and pediatric patient care, supervise physician assistants and nurse practitioners, and assist with clinic teaching and administrative responsibilities. The provider may also clinically supervise mid-level providers. Waikiki Health is a nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) founded in 1967, providing holistic care to vulnerable populations through its clinical and program sites in welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environments. Requirements

  • Graduate of a certified medical or osteopathic school.
  • 1 year of work experience as a physician in a primary care clinic preferred.
  • Must meet CME requirements for licensure.
  • Current license to practice medicine in Hawaii.
  • Current DEA and Hawaii Narcotics Enforcement Division licensure.
  • Must be able to work with multi-ethnic and multi-cultural staff and clients.
  • Must be eligible for credentialing with Quest and the majority of other third party payers the clinic participates with.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • For Mid-level Providers: Graduate of a certified Physician Assistant (PA) program.
  • One year of work experience as a PA in a primary clinic preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Hawaii.
  • Waikiki Health requires proof of the following immunization; with or without reasonable accommodation: TB skin test or chest x-ray, Hep B (optional).

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of work experience as a physician in a primary care clinic preferred.
  • One year of work experience as a PA in a primary clinic preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides independent management of the care of adult and pediatric patients.
  • Provides supervision for the care delivered by the physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
  • Assists in clinic teaching and administrative responsibilities.
  • Clinically supervise mid-level providers.
  • Provides comprehensive outpatient care with the ability to consult and/or refer to other health care providers/services/agencies as necessary.
  • Maintains charting in accordance with legal and clinic standards.
  • Dispenses medications from within clinic supply in accordance with legal and clinic standards.
  • Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize against communicable diseases.
  • Participates in health center and professional quality assurance plans/activities, data collection and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
