About The Position

Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematology/Oncology physician to join our team. This role involves an outpatient practice with hospital consults, a 1:3 call rotation supported by an experienced APP, and dedicated support staff including a nurse navigator. The position also includes hospitalist coverage on the in-patient unit and participation in weekly cancer committee/tumor board meetings. Ancillary services available include Anesthesia, Inpatient & Outpatient Surgery with a Cardiac Cath Lab, Diagnostic Testing, Respiratory Therapy, Lab, and an Outpatient Infusion Center. The multi-specialty group includes various other specialties.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program.
  • Completion of a Hematology or Oncology fellowship or integrated Hematology and Medical Oncology Program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
  • Experience can be demonstrated by a fellowship log for recent graduates, a quality profile from current hospital privileges showing clinical activity for the last 12 months (including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications, with active involvement of at least 50 inpatient patients in the last 12 months), or documentation of clinic activity for the last 12 months (demonstrating active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months) if a quality profile is not available.

Nice To Haves

  • Training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process.
