Requirements

• License to practice medicine in Louisiana.
• Completion of an interventional radiology fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Utilize minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat disease.
• Consult with physicians, nurses, patients and patients’ families concerning treatment and care and transmission risks, prophylaxis and precautions.
• Refer cases to specialists as indicated, maintaining continuity of care.
• Provide medical direction to healthcare staff and assist in developing and implementing education, training and in-service programs for the healthcare staff.
• Various administrative duties and participate in committees.
• Maintain patient records according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Remain a member of the active staff of hospitals.
• Provide call coverage.
• Frequent travel to worksites in the New Orleans metropolitan area.
