About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. Marshfield Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med/Peds physician to join our well-established primary care practice in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This is a busy 100% outpatient clinic practice located at the flagship site. The department is well-supported with its own Pharmacist, Behavioral Health Integrated Care Nurse, Psychologist and Diabetic Educator. The nurse line is the first call and call is 1:20 (phone call only). There is excellent work-life balance with support for job sharing and a 4-day work week flexibility. There is an opportunity to provide medical coverage at Norwood Health Center (Local Psychiatric Facility). A Medical Director opportunity is available if interested. We strongly encourage our physicians to be involved in medical education and research to continue building our strong foundation of patient care, research and education for years to come.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examinations.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultative services to adolescent and adult patients with common and complex illness, diseases and functional disorders of the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, and genitourinary systems.
