Physician - Internal Medicine, Outpatient Only
About The Position
West Virginia University School of Medicine Eastern Campus seeks internists for multiple full-time faculty outpatient only positions. Ranks available are Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The successful candidate will practice in Winchester, Virginia. Winchester is a historic city known for its heritage, pedestrian mall, and as the "Apple Capital." The position is on the academic outpatient internal medicine service in Winchester, Virginia, with a growing academic Internal Medicine section that affords teaching opportunities with internal medicine residents and medical students in an outpatient clinical setting. Faculty will also participate in didactic conferences and have access to scholarly and research opportunities. The primary hospital is Berkeley Medical Center, a teaching hospital in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, with comprehensive medical and surgical services and active programs in Neurosurgery, Cardiovascular, and Oncology. Additional tertiary care support is provided by Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
- Eligible for state medical license.
- Completed an Internal Medicine residency program.
- Board certified / eligible in Internal Medicine.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Responsibilities
- Practice in the areas of Internal Medicine.
- Provide excellent patient care.
- Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Take an active role in the new internal medicine residency program.
- Participate in didactic conferences.
- Engage in scholarly and research opportunities.
