About The Position

City of Hope Medical Group is seeking an Infectious Diseases Physician and Hospital Epidemiologist for their Duarte Campus. This is a full-time clinical faculty position (Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor) within the Department of Medicine at City of Hope National Medical Center. The role offers a unique opportunity to work within an integrated, multidisciplinary Medical Group Practice serving a comprehensive cancer center. City of Hope is an expanding institution with significant investment in clinical, academic, and research facilities. The position is for physicians who are research and mission-minded, providing exceptional patient-centered care through clear communication and collaboration with subspecialty teams. The hospital is located on campus, allowing work from a single location. Graduating fellows with significant exposure to transplant infectious disease during training are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Active or eligible for California medical license
  • ABIM board certification in Infectious Disease
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experienced in leading policy and protocol development and implementation for hospital epidemiology and infection prevention and control with a special focus on cancer patients
  • Experience in transplant infectious disease - program that is heavily focused toward immunocompromised host infections (hematologic malignancy/ HCT)

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years working within hematologic malignancies preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services divided between inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Contribute to Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Control efforts at Duarte.
  • Engage in clinical research opportunities.
