About The Position

The physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients. This role involves assessing and monitoring the medical needs of patients, providing quality medical services in a cost-effective and appropriate manner, and ensuring coverage of caseload at all times. The physician will also provide oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, evaluate educational needs and implement teaching strategies, and document patient care consistent with regulatory standards. Communication with the healthcare team is essential for continuity of care and coordination of services. The physician will act as a patient/family advocate and participate in ongoing process improvement activities, working collaboratively with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.

Requirements

  • Doctorate
  • LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
  • Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
  • Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
  • Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
  • Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
  • Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.
  • Acts as a patient/family advocate.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.
  • Actively works with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
