About The Position

The Division of Hospital Medicine at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is a team of over 77 physicians and 29 advanced practitioners dedicated to providing outstanding patient care. As a tertiary care academic medical center, we treat a wide range of patients, including many with highly complex medical conditions. We also have a strong commitment to medical education, hosting many trainees throughout the year. This role specifically focuses on nocturnist duties, including leading Rapid Responses with residents, supervising admissions handled by residents, and providing direct patient care while supervising Advanced Practice Practitioners (APPs). The division is described as a collegial group that values and recognizes provider contributions.

Requirements

• Residency Training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care.
• Supervise Advanced Practice Practitioners (APPs) for both admissions and cross-coverage.
• Lead Rapid Responses with residents.
• Handle overnight Internal Medicine admissions (4-6 staffed by a Nocturnist).
• Do not respond to codes; the ICU handles them.
