About The Position

Deaconess Illinois Medical Center in Marion, IL, is seeking a per diem (as needed) Hospitalist to join our dedicated team of 8 employed hospitalists and 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The position offers flexible scheduling for work-life balance, with day shifts staffed by 3 physicians and 1-2 APPs, and night shifts staffed by 1 nocturnist physician and 1 APP. Physicians can expect to see an average of 17 patients per shift, with approximately 11 admissions per day at the Marion campus. The referral base includes ED visits, direct admissions, and regional transfers. Procedures are not required, and subspecialty support is readily available from various departments including GI, Cardiology, Urology, Neurology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, and Colorectal Surgery.

Requirements

Physician
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Active IL Medical License
DEA License
Ability to work flexible DSS (as needed) scheduling
Experience with managing an average of 17 patients per shift
Experience with approximately 11 admissions per day

Nice To Haves

Experience in a hospitalist role

Responsibilities

Provide physician coverage for day shifts (7 AM – 7 PM) and night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM).
Manage an average of 17 patient encounters per shift.
Handle an average of 11 admissions per day at the Marion campus.
Accept referrals from ED visits, direct admissions, and regional transfers.
Collaborate with a team of 8 hospitalists and 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
