About The Position

The West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medical Oncology are seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist for practice in Charleston, West Virginia, and Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, West Virginia. This role involves practicing in hematology/oncology, providing excellent patient care, and actively teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Thomas Memorial Hospital is part of the WVU Health System, an integrated network of healthcare providers across multiple states. The WVU Cancer Institute is a leading cancer treatment center known for its multidisciplinary teams, advanced therapies, sophisticated technologies, and patient-driven research. It serves a large patient population annually and is actively working towards NCI Designation, with plans for a new state-of-the-art cancer hospital. The Division of Hematology and Oncology is a large division with numerous practice sites and a commitment to providing local cancer care through community partnerships.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical license.
  • Completed an accredited internal medicine residency.
  • Completed a hematology/oncology fellowship program.
  • Board certified/eligible in hematology/oncology.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the areas of hematology/oncology.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
