Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology
About The Position
The practice is seeking a locum tenens provider to provide oversight of a Nurse Practitioner (NP), exhibit willingness and interest in enrolling patients in clinical research studies, and cover on-call responsibilities as needed. This role involves weekly coverage from Monday to Friday during the weeks of July 27-31 and August 10-14. The practice environment is primarily inpatient care, with some outpatient coverage to accommodate physician leave. The patient demographics include an adult population with an average daily patient volume of 12-15 patients in the hospital. The clinical focus is on Oncology (both inpatient and outpatient settings) and Hematology. The EMR/Documentation System used is EPIC. The shift hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Requirements
- Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology.
- Active Virginia Medical License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Clean background check essential for temporary positions.
- A Self-Query National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) report must be presented at the time of application.
