About The Position

The West Virginia University Health System, the state’s largest health system and largest private employer, comprises 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. In addition, it includes five institutes, as well as providing management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. WVU Medicine - United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV seeks board certified/eligible hematologist/oncologists (multiple openings) to join a well-established hospital practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, diagnostic and clinical skills. The Cecil B. Highland, Jr. & Barbara B. Highland Cancer Center at UHC is recognized by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Community Comprehensive Cancer Program. The center provides the entire continuum of cancer related services from prevention/early detection screening and education to surgery, medical and radiation oncology, inpatient and outpatient therapies, home care and hospice services. UHC’s cancer navigator program is the largest in North Central West Virginia, providing comprehensive and compassionate guidance to patients and their families throughout their cancer care and survivorship.

Requirements

MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
Eligible to obtain a state medical license
Completed an accredited residency in Internal Medicine
Completed fellowship in Hematology/Oncology
Board certified or eligible in both Oncology and Hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine
All qualifications must be met at the time of appointment.
