About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a dedicated Hematologist/Medical Oncologist to join their team in Detroit Lakes, MN. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, comprehensive support services, and collaboration through multidisciplinary tumor board conferences. The position also involves innovative telemedicine, research opportunities through an NCORP grant, and participation in accredited programs. The organization utilizes an advanced EPIC electronic medical record system and has strong physician and administrative leadership.

Requirements

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hematology
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
Proven experience as a Hematology/Oncology Physician
Utilization of the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Responsibilities

Provide patient-centered care, building strong relationships with patients and offering compassionate, attentive, and high-quality care.
Collaborate with a robust support team including genetic counselors, nutritionists, social workers, nurse navigators, behavioral therapists, certified cancer-care physical therapists, and lymphedema specialists.
Access and utilize on-site specialty services such as Radiation Oncology, Interventional Radiology, Genetic Counseling, and Palliative Care.
Participate in weekly Multidisciplinary Tumor Board Conferences to discuss and plan patient care.
Extend reach through community cancer center and telemedicine services utilizing TCON, E consults, and virtual patient visits.
Engage in clinical trials through the NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) grant.
Manage an average of 12-14 follow-up visits and 1-2 new patients daily.
Provide care one to two days per week at regional clinics in Park Rapids, MN and Fosston, MN.
Participate in call approximately 10 days per month.
