About The Position

This position is for a General Physician in Yazoo City, Mississippi. The schedule is weekdays, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays, with eight-hour workdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., including a thirty-minute unpaid lunch period. Hours may be adjusted to meet institutional needs. All duties must be performed in accordance with standard practices for General Practice Physician services and comply with Federal and State policies and regulations associated with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and American Correctional Association Foundations/Core Standards (ACA) for Adults Correctional Institutions.

Requirements

• Board Certified or have equivalent experience in the field of medicine.
• At least one year of direct experience.
• Fully licensed as required by law.
• Able to prescribe Opioid Use Disorder Medications.
• Knowledgeable about medical/legal aspects of patient care in a penal environment.
• Working knowledge of policy, procedures, and standards prescribed by the AAAHC, Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons, American Correctional Association, and the U.S. Courts.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certified, in accordance with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Provide evidence of recent testing for immunity to Tuberculosis or other communicable disease.
• Knowledge of routine office related duties.
• Working knowledge of computers, word processing programs.
• Able to type.
• Possess the ability to file various documents in chronological order.
• Possess good organizational skills.
• Possess good interpersonal relationship skills.
• Able to work effectively with the medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties in accordance with standard and methods generally accepted within the field of General Practice Physician services.
• Adhere to all Federal and State policy and regulations associated with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and American Correctional Association Foundations/Core Standards (ACA) for Adults Correctional Institutions.
• Prescribe Opioid Use Disorder Medications.
• Perform routine office related duties.
• File various documents in chronological order.
