About The Position

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a Board Certified General Surgeon to join a group of general surgeons that also provide level 3 trauma and acute care surgery at Franciscan Physician Network Indy Southside Surgical Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will be joining a fast-paced, talented, and cohesive team, with a strong focus on both clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. The role requires strong clinical and operative skills, good interpersonal skills, and a desire to develop strong ties with the community and existing medical staff. The physician will work collaboratively to coordinate and deliver the highest quality of patient care.

Requirements

Board Certified General Surgeon
Strong clinical and operative skills
Ability to prioritize patient satisfaction
Good interpersonal skills
Doctorate Required
Physician License (MD/DO) - Upon Hire Required
Board Certification in Specialty Discipline (or eligibility if appropriate) - Upon Hire Required
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

Willingness to become competent on robotic-assisted surgeries.
Commitment to obtain Wound Care Certification within 2 years.

Responsibilities

Provide level 3 trauma and acute care surgery.
Perform Gastric Sleeve/Rny Gastric Bypass, Acute Care Surgery, Laparoscopic Appendectomy, Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Hernia Repair, and Colon Resection.
Utilize Da Vinci Robot ("Xi" with "Firefly") with considerable console time available weekly.
Round on inpatient surgical patients.
Collaborate with a team of general surgeons.
Coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care.
Prioritize patient satisfaction.
Develop strong ties with the community and existing medical staff.
