About The Position

Gastroenterologist at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. Requirements

• Board Certified or Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• MD or DO degree.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Maryland.
• Ability to perform a full spectrum of endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, etc.).
• Interest and training for advanced procedures (ERCP, EUS, etc.) is optional but preferred.
• Experience with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
• Experience with chronic disease management.
• Ability to coordinate with surgery and oncology.
• Strong clinical support and collaborative team environment.
• Willingness to participate in medical education and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform a full spectrum of endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, etc.).
• Optionally perform advanced procedures (ERCP, EUS, etc.) based on interest and training.
• Conduct inpatient consults and procedures.
• Manage a busy outpatient GI clinic with an established patient panel.
• Manage chronic GI conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilize telehealth options.
• Treat adult patients with a full spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions.
• Coordinate care with surgery and oncology when needed.
• Teach with the upcoming Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Participate in new residency programs in development.
• Engage in medical education, lectures, and clinical supervision based on interest.
